Peerkankai koottu


  

Ingredients:


Peerkangai - 2 nos (medium size)
Moong Dhal or Thur dhal -  1/2 cup 
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Coconut -  2 tbs(Grated) 
Jeera - 1/2 tsp
Green chillies - 4 nos 
Coriander leaves - a handfull 
Curry leaves -  a handfull
Ginger pieces - 1 tsp 
Salt to taste

For Seasoning:


Oil - as you need

Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

Asafoetida - a pinch 

Curry leaves - a few


Method:



Peeled and washed and chopped the peerkangai

Pressure cook the peerkangai along with moong dhal, turmeric powder, salt with  water.       
Grind  as a nice paste of coconut, jeera, green chillies, ginger and
curry leaves adding a little water and add it to the cooked vegetable.
In a pan put the oil to heat add mustard seeds, asafoetida and  curry leaves.  
Pour it in the koottu and stir well. 
Now the Peerkankai koottu is ready to serve...
